Keep the stitches on the left side. Cast on 3 new sts and knit 3, slip 1, knit 1, pass the slipped stitch over. Do NOT turn the needle; slide the 4 stitches back to the end of the left side. Hold the yarn behind the stitches. Knit 3, slip 1 knitwise, knit 1, pass the slipped stitch over. Repeat.

When the last stitch before the edge has been knitted, pull the 4 stitches back, this time knit 3, slip 1 stitch knitwise (part of corner), pull the 4 stitches back, knit 3, slip 1 stitch knitwise, knit 1 and pass the slipped stitch over, back with stitch, 3 knit, slip 1 stitch knitwise (part of corner). *Knit 3, slip 1 stitch knitwise, knit 1 and pass the slipped stitch over*.

1 loop stitch: Insert the right needle into the stitch from the left needle and pull a loop through the work. Knit 1 and cast off the loop over this stitch.

Knit into one stitch: 1 knit, 1 purl, 1 knit, 1 purl. Turn. Knit the 4 stitches together purlwise and place the remaining stitch back on the right needle.
